How Chemo Angels Came to Be
In May of 2000, I met a woman who was going through chemotherapy treatment for breast cancer. I asked for her postal address and started sending her cards and small gifts every week. After her treatment was over, she thanked me effusively and said that she considered me her "chemo angel". Eureka! The light bulb popped on over my head, and Chemo Angels was born. We have been growing ever since. Chemo Angels is a labor of love in memory of my father and best friend, Chip Armstrong, who died of pancreatic cancer in 1989. Senior Angels was created in memory of my beloved grandmother, Lida Armstrong.
